UPGRADE FROM SCUBA DIVER TO: SSI OPEN WATER DIVER

Maximum Depth: 18 meters

Program: 2 theory sessions, 2 skill sessions in shallow water, 2 open water dives from our comfortable boat
The level of an SSI Advanced Open Water Diver is unique in its level of knowledge and diving experience. You have successfully passed your 4 SSI specialty courses and have at least 24 logged dives.
The student who enrolls to this training program will have access to a package of 4 SSI speciality courses of their choice. If the ‘Deep Diving’ course is included among them, the student will be trained to reach the maximum depth of 40 metres.
Then you will receive your SSI Advanced Open Water certification from Zingaro Diving Center.

SSI Open Water Diver
Duration: 3 days
Maximum Depth: 18 meters
Minimum age: 10 years

Our comprehensive program, combined with SSI’s innovative Digital Learning platform, provides you with a flexible and enjoyable way to become a certified open water diver.
No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through a SSI Try Dive.

SSI Scuba Diver Course
Duration: 2 days
Maximum Depth: 12 meter

Embark on an exciting underwater adventure with the SSI Scuba Diver Course at Zingaro Diving Center in Sicily.
This program provides the perfect foundation for becoming a confident and safe diver, allowing you to explore the mesmerizing underwater world.
With a combination of online learning, shallow water dives, and open water training, you’ll gain the essential skills to scuba dive up to 12 meters deep alongside an experienced SSI Professional.
No prior experience with scuba diving is required, but you can try it first through a SSI Try Dive.

SSI Try Dive (Introduction Dives)
Half day excursion with a try-out dive
Have you ever been fascinated watching documentaries of the colourful underwater world?
Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater?
If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, a Try Dive offers the ideal opportunity to dive between the colourful fish in Sicily.
At Zingaro Diving Center, we do understand that your first introduction to the underwater world has to be an unforgettable experience.
We ‘ll let you enjoy a lovely day on our boat. You will be individually assigned to a professional Instructor, who speaks your language. You will dive in the shallow, crystal clear waters of Sicily, under the direct and personal supervision of a professional.
A safe, exciting and unique experience!
What to expect of a full day excursion with introductory dive?
A private van will pick you up at any hotel in Castellammare del Golfo, between 07:30 am and 08:15 am. The driver will bring you safely to the dive center.
You can try on the dive equipment, that is of impeccable quality.
During the briefing you go through the main dive signs and make the necessary agreements with the instructor. Then you will make a first dive with full dive gear in the shallow, crystal and clear waters of Sicily. The professional Instructor will be in constant contact with you and will help you in all possible ways. The maximum depth is 5 meters.
After this unique experience, you can enjoy a snack break.
If you enjoyed your first dive, you can enroll for a second dive (at an extra fee) at another dive site in the afternoon. Or you can just relax and sunbathe or snorkel. If you loved the experience, why not choose to continue your diving adventure and sign up for a full diving course?
After the second dive, we ‘ll start our trip back to the marina and diving center.
At 12:30 pm our boat docks in the marina and our drivers will safely bring you back to the hotel, with some golden memories of this unique day.
Our service for a half day excursion with introductory dive includes
Hotel pickup and drop-off by a private air-conditioned vehicle
Half day trip on “Rubby”, our 7 m long, comfortable rib.
A clear and full briefing about the doings and safety procedures on the boat
A personal and professional dive instructor who assists you in your own language
An introduction dive in the morning
A snorkeling session or a second dive (optional)
Use of well-maintained dive-and snorkel gear.
Practical information:
Minimum age: 10 years old
To be specified at the time of booking: shoe size, height, and body weight
Our drivers will pick you up at your hotel between 07:30 am and 08:15 am; the exact time will be informed a day before
The boat leaves at 8.30 am (exceptionally at 9:00 am)
You can make a second introduction dive in the afternoon, at an additional fee
Return arrival in the marina between 12:30 and 13:00 pm, depending on the itinerary, dive sites and weather conditions
Transport by our drivers to your hotel
